My friend Crystal got sealed this past summer in Logan, Utah. It's not hard to convince me to go to Utah, so I was more than happy to commit. Since I have the summer off, I figured I'd go and spend some time there. It's a lot easier to see everyone I want to see when I can drive myself around, so I decided to drive. Then I decided to stop and see my brother and his family in Colorado on the way out. Then I decided to hit my last two continental states on the way back. My trip to my friend's wedding ended up a month-long road trip and it was fabulous.
I started on a Friday afternoon and drove to St. Louis, Missouri where my friend Ashley (Cole) Ostler lives with her husband and baby. Ashley and I were companions in Argentina - she was my very last companion, actually - so it was fun to see her again.
Suze and I starting fresh. Leaving behind rainy Indiana (I'm pretty sure it rained the entire time I was gone).
After staying with Ashley on Friday night, I got up early (for me) on Saturday and drove through Missouri and Kansas into Colorado. I was on the road for about thirteen hours that day. I listened to "Serial," a podcast about a murder case. (If you're wondering, I certainly don't think there was enough evidence to convict Adnan.)
Kansas
The next morning, I got up and went to church then my friend Kyler and I drove down to Colorado Springs to the Garden of the Gods. The traffic along I-25 is terrible, but Garden of the Gods is gorgeous! Loved these red rock formations!
We also drove up to Helen Hunt Falls. It was raining by that time, so we didn't hang out there very long. I love the mountains!
