Our time in Vermont was limited to a lot of driving. We started the day in New Hampshire and went to church there then hit the road - aiming for Albany, New York.
We stopped in Sharon, Vermont, which is the birthplace of Joseph Smith the prophet. There's a lovely memorial to him there with a visitor's center, as well as some of the foundation for the home he grew up in - it's no longer there.
We drove through a lot of wooded areas. I loved the lush green trees everywhere. We ended up getting lost for a minute, but the surroundings made it a most pleasant detour.
We came to a road diverged in a [green] wood and found it particularly fitting, since we visited Robert Frost's grave later that day.
Jaime's collage representation of our live reenactment of Frost's poem next to his gravestone.
The Old First Church (First Congregational Church) was the first church in Vermont to truly separate church and state. It was built in 1805. Robert Frost is buried in the cemetery right next to it.
Our last stop that day was Bennington Battlefield, site of a Revolutionary War battle, though there's not much to see there. It was rainy all day, so we didn't get out to walk around much.
