Third Anniversary - St. Louis

Brandon was in charge of a campout the weekend closest to our third anniversary, so we took a quick trip the weekend before. We went back to St. Louis, where we celebrated our first anniversary, and stayed in the HoteLumiere which was right next to the river and the arch. It was beautiful!

As we headed in, we had dinner in The Hill, the Italian neighborhood of the city, then took a walk along the arch's park on our way to Hilton 360 - a rooftop bar. Last time we were in St. Louis, the park was all under construction, so it was so great to see the finished product.

Hilton 360 overlooks Busch Stadium where the Cardinals play, so we got to watch a little bit of the game while we checked out the views. We didn't even order anything, so it was definitely the cheapest way to see the city from the sky!

The next morning, we headed back to the park - now Gateway Arch National Park to look a little closer. We went through the new museum and explored the grounds. There was some major flooding going on, but it was still beautiful. I love any body of water - even when it's terrifyingly powerful.

We headed out to the temple to go to the distribution center, had lunch, then hung out at the hotel. It's unusual that I can convince Brandon to just lounge in bed with me, but having a TV (with cable) you can see from bed helps! It was nice to just enjoy the nice room and relax together.

For dinner, we went to Bailey's Range, recommended by my colleagues who live in STL. The burgers were delicious, the decor was really cool, and the ice cream was bomb!

It was a great trip - I just wish it was like 10 times as long. Spending 100% of my time with Brandon is my very favorite thing to do, regardless of what we're actually doing. I'm so grateful to have spent the last three years with him, and can't wait for all the rest.

Baseball and Circus

Dominika and the kids are in town for about a month, and it's been so fun to have them here! On the 18th, they came to Jackson's baseball game, and then Adelina stayed with us and we went to the circus and had a sleepover.

Brandon is every child's favorite uncle.

Isaac and Dominika's son Elias was born the same day as Brandon's sister Elexis's daughter Nova. This was their first time meeting - quite a difference in size!

Jackson's team lost (I think) but he had two hits!

After the game, Dominika and the kids came over for lunch then Dominika took the boys and Adelina stayed with us and we headed over to the circus! It was the first time for all four of us. I was a little skeptical at first - the first act wasn't very impressive - but it ended up being pretty fun even though it was crazy hot!

Jackson's favorite act were the motorcycles that rode in crazy circles inside the metal cage and my favorite were the acrobats who were crazy strong. Adelina's favorite was "everything." :)

Clown noses for silly kids!

We came home and the kids played a bit then had a sleepover on the air mattress on Jackson's floor. They had a secret plan they wouldn't tell us about, which we assumed was that they were going to stay up all night. That clearly didn't happen. We found out in the morning, that their plan was actually to wake up in the middle of the night and have a party, which also didn't happen. :)

Adelina stayed and went to church with us the next day then I took her home. It was so much fun to have her stay and to see her and Jackson play together. My two favorite kids!

Indy 500 Practice

This spring has been crazy at work with tons of school visits and a few big events thrown in. This event was the easiest one ever, though, because I barely had to do anything! I found a couple of schools to participate and then my counterpart on the Customer Success team (the team that manages our partnerships) and our partners did the rest. I just showed up to the 10th floor suite of the pagoda at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, ate delicious food, and saw all kinds of behind-the-scenes stuff at the track. It was awesome!

The first day we had students from Ben Davis University High School and the second day was George Washington High School.

We started the day with a Q&A with Zach Veach, one of the Indy car drivers and one of our sponsors.

Then a tour of Firestone's garage

Q&A with Honda Motor Sports

And a tour of the garage learning all about the car

All of that mixed in with lots of cool views from the balcony, good food, and fast cars. It was such a cool event, and I loved it!
