To celebrate the end of Brandon's first year of school, we took a quick overnight trip to Cincinnati, Ohio. The weather was GORGEOUS and we had a great time exploring the beautiful riverfront.
We stayed in the Marriott across the river in Kentucky, and I realized it was the hotel Thomas and the football team had stayed in back in November. We'd gone to visit him before the game, so it looked very familiar to me!
Beautiful murals along the river, depicting the Cincinnati riverfront at various periods in history
You know I can't resist some good bridge pics!
The park along the river on the Ohio side is so cool! So many cool features, including a larger-than-life piano, a full row of swings, gorgeous water features, and a beautiful (air-conditioned!) carousel.
We ended our evening with a quick snack at the hotel restaurant, which had a patio with a gorgeous view of the skyline at twilight.
The next day was Mother's Day. We hit up a ward outside of Cincinnati who just so happened to be having a Mother's Day brunch for all the women, so I lucked out and got treated with a full brunch and some socialization with the women in the ward. I love visiting new wards when we're traveling - they're always so happy to see visitors!
