Since Brandon was already living in our apartment, we were able to do a lot of home preparations before we were married. I still had most of the furniture we were planning to use in our apartment, though, so when we did hang out at Brandon's, we had a kitchen table and a twin-sized bed to hang out on. I don't remember what we were doing this night, but Jackson was clearly not feeling it. :)
A couple of weeks before we got married, we took a morning off from work, went to breakfast and got our marriage license. We went to Yolk downtown, which was pretty delicious. This was fun for a few reasons: 1. Breakfast food at a restaurant is delicious. 2. Not being at work when you're supposed to be at work is really fun. 3. Walking around downtown during the day is exciting. 4. We were licensed to marry. Like we could've done it that day. Each of the steps towards the actual wedding was so surreal and so exciting!
My lease ended two weeks before we got married. Originally, I had planned to stay with a friend from work for those two weeks. But then Brandon got put on orders for his annual National Guard training so he was in Remington, Indiana for the three weeks before the wedding. Since he wasn't going to be in the apartment, I just moved in! Between my stuff and the stuff we had already gotten at the bridal showers, there was A LOT of unpacking to do.
I brought my bed with me when I moved in, so we moved the twin-sized bed Brandon was using into Jackson's room for him, since he was still sleeping on a toddler bed. He was very interested in helping, no pants needed.
