Brandon was in charge of a campout the weekend closest to our third anniversary, so we took a quick trip the weekend before. We went back to St. Louis, where we celebrated our first anniversary, and stayed in the HoteLumiere which was right next to the river and the arch. It was beautiful!
As we headed in, we had dinner in The Hill, the Italian neighborhood of the city, then took a walk along the arch's park on our way to Hilton 360 - a rooftop bar. Last time we were in St. Louis, the park was all under construction, so it was so great to see the finished product.
Hilton 360 overlooks Busch Stadium where the Cardinals play, so we got to watch a little bit of the game while we checked out the views. We didn't even order anything, so it was definitely the cheapest way to see the city from the sky!
The next morning, we headed back to the park - now Gateway Arch National Park to look a little closer. We went through the new museum and explored the grounds. There was some major flooding going on, but it was still beautiful. I love any body of water - even when it's terrifyingly powerful.
We headed out to the temple to go to the distribution center, had lunch, then hung out at the hotel. It's unusual that I can convince Brandon to just lounge in bed with me, but having a TV (with cable) you can see from bed helps! It was nice to just enjoy the nice room and relax together.
For dinner, we went to Bailey's Range, recommended by my colleagues who live in STL. The burgers were delicious, the decor was really cool, and the ice cream was bomb!
It was a great trip - I just wish it was like 10 times as long. Spending 100% of my time with Brandon is my very favorite thing to do, regardless of what we're actually doing. I'm so grateful to have spent the last three years with him, and can't wait for all the rest.
