Start of School

I'm now in year two of my job as a Parent Involvement Educator at William McKinley Elementary. This year has been much busier than the first - probably because I know what I'm doing so I'm actually doing more - but it's still good. I've loved coming back to staff and students that I know and love. They make work so much more fun!

Before the start of school, IPS (Indianapolis Public Schools - my school district) held a district-wide convocation for all the staff. Boomer, the Pacers' mascot, came over to say hi and I was a dancin' fool, so obviously he was drawn to me. 

The first day of school was a big deal. We had an assembly where all the staff were introduced while walking down the red carpet. We danced and sang about our core values. It was a lot of fun and the kids loved it.
